This is the first time I've felt compelled to leave a negative review, and I want to share my experience in hopes that it might be helpful to others. I had my first root canal here, which took two to three hours. Unfortunately, I continued to experience pain afterward and waited six months before returning for a follow-up. At that appointment, I felt the cause of my ongoing pain wasn't thoroughly explored, and I left without a clear explanation. The doctor mentioned she would follow up with my regular dentist to discuss next steps, but after waiting a month, I never heard back from anyone. I eventually sought a second opinion on my own, and my dentist recommended redoing the root canal. Sadly, the pain persisted even after the second procedure. After doing some research, I've come to understand that the tooth likely cannot be saved and will need to be extracted and replaced with an implant. I wish the underlying issue had been identified earlier, as it might have saved considerable time, expense, and discomfort. I had a really great experience with Dr. Mara Leveson and her office. I get very anxious with dental procedures, especially something like a root canal, so I was extremely nervous going in. Dr. Leveson was incredibly kind and reassuring, and she made me feel comfortable from the start. She took her time, made sure I was completely numb, and checked in throughout the procedure to make sure I was doing okay. I had an infection in the root and was afraid the tooth might need to be pulled, but she was able to save it and handled everything with so much care and attention. You can tell she is very experienced and truly focused on doing things thoroughly the right way. I left feeling relieved and really thankful I was in such good hands. I would absolutely recommend Dr. Leveson to anyone looking for an endodontist.

I have the worst phobia of dental procedures. Dr. Leveson was patient and kind, professional and skilled. She endured my fears like a champ and I’m very grateful!

Dr. Leveson took excellent care of my infected root canal. She and her staff (Melissa at the front desk, and Ophelia, Dr. Leveson’s assistant) are all very competent, pleasant and friendly. I’m grateful to my Prosthodontist for recommending Dr. Leveson to me. I’ve had no trouble with it and am very happy with the service I’ve received. Highly recommend. Thank you, Dr. Leveson!

Dr L is unethical. Her very nice associate said she could do this procedure even though my appointment was with Dr L. To my chagrin the assistant failed and dr Leveson was on vacation which I was not told prior to the procedure . The associate said she would close the tooth because she couldn’t couldn’t find the right opening in the canal. She found the wrong one! She said Dr L would take over when she returned. However, my root canal was destroyed that day and because I’m on Prolia (which can cause terrible damage to bone around teeth) there are complications so i immediately saw a highly regarded endodontist in nyc who concluded ,with other prominent dentists confirming , the only solution was to extract the tooth for an implant and take a chance the Prolia and other problems with extraction would not reject the implant or cause series problems. I have been through a lot of agony and expense and wrote to Dr L asking her to share this expense and talk to me. She had her lawyer write to me immediately and never apologized . Yes, the paintings in the office are great and expensive and she can afford an expensive lawyer on call to do her bidding , but she is not ethical which is
